4/20/06 vs. San Diego

Well, you probably heard by now, Willy's faith in me finally paid off and I collected a base hit tonight in the ninth inning, raising my average to .063. The guys let me keep the ball. And we're going to Ground Round tonight to celebrate. Pretty sweet. I hope they still have those baseball helmet icecream sundaes, cause I plan to pig out tonight.

Hi Jose,
Your grandmother & I had a nice day yesterday- went to the mall and had lunch. ElSid
has gotten so big. Your grandmother just loves him and is happy to care for him during the day. They are fun to watch.
A lot more people here are watching the Mets and keeping up with you career as I brag about you so much! My box is getting full with all the news clippings.
Just remember no matter what we are pulling for you and love you. I feel your granddad is watching too!
We are so happy your dream has come true. Best of luck.

Hey Jose,
The Mets need to sign you long term NOW and lock up their franchise player. Here's to another fantastic season. Here's a suggestion, MVP Valentin now! Think about it.

Yo Jose. Let me know if you wanna go out partying in the city sometime. I'd love to buy the Mets outfielder/benchwarmer man a drink. I can even make sure a couple of my single lady friends are there. Keep up the good work man, lets go mets!

While in Iraq, you were the only source of GOOD entertainment. Lots of heart. Thanks for that. As a huge Mets fan, I am glad to see the Mets finally got who they deserved. Do the Mets ever have military appreciation days?

Hello Jose, My name is Joe I am a life long Mets fan, I just moved from Jersey to Florida. I was wondering what do you do to try to rebound from a bad game? do you make any adjustments to your swing, or mental adjustments, or do you just go out and play your game????

Hi Jose,

I assume that since you got a hit you decided not to shave off the moustache. Needless to say we are thrilled...that the moustache is staying. If the moustache had to go what would happen to your picture on the old Tampa Bay Buccaneers logo? Or your pending role as Sinbad? But I do have one request: if you do shave off the moustache, can you wear wayfarers and a C.H.P. helmet at all times. We need a John Poncharello sighting on the Mets bench. It would be, in short, inspirational.

Jose -- did you hear the San Diego announcers last night? They claimed that you could start on 28 other major league clubs! That must have made you real proud.

Hey Jose,

Made the necessary adjustments to the song we spoke about over dinner last night:

Jose Val-en-tin - he sits on the bench - he scratches his arse - and then he strikes out...

New York Mets...Our Team...Our Time...

See you tonight sexy.
